Can I self-host ShipSilently like Unleash?
Not yet, self-host is on our 2027 roadmap. Unleash has a mature open-source self-host story today (AGPL-3.0). If self-hosting matters now, Unleash is the right tool and we will say so.
Is Unleash really open source?
Yes, the core is open source, though it relicensed to AGPL-3.0 (historically Apache 2.0), which some legal teams review carefully. RBAC, SSO and more than two environments are gated to paid tiers.
Does ShipSilently have approvals and SSO like Unleash?
Change-request approvals are on our Q4 2026 roadmap and SSO is on the roadmap too, not shipped. Unleash offers four-eyes approvals and SSO on paid tiers today.
What about running my own infrastructure?
Unleash self-host means you run Postgres, the Unleash server and (for scale) Unleash Edge, including upgrades and on-call. ShipSilently is fully managed, so there is nothing to operate.
